Yo Re Mi is building our Teaching Artist roster for school residencies across NYC and the Albany / Saratoga Capital Region. A Teaching Artist visits a partner school's classroom weekly to deliver the Yo Re Mi musical yoga curriculum, following the schedule that school sets for its program. Assignments may run for 6 weeks up to the full school year, depending on the site's contract with us. This is independent contractor work. When we sign a school, we post the site to our roster of licensed, cleared Teaching Artists with the schedule and pay rate attached, and you decide whether it fits your calendar. Pay is a percentage of the revenue that will be generated at that site. Requirements Background in childcare, child development, education or other child-centered training. Minimum of 6 months teaching or childcare experience Ukulele skills and a strong singing voice An active Yo Re Mi teaching license - If you're already licensed, you're most of the way there. If not: certification is a 12-hour, self-paced online course, and the Core license is $35/month or $350/year. That covers the certification itself plus licensed use of the Yo Re Mi curriculum, resource hub access, and community support. Background check and fingerprinting clearance. If you have not been cleared by DOE/DOH, we will walk you through this process once you apply.
